Following up on the human form one I did...
Here's a versus between Jake's season one dragon form and his season two dragon form. C:
It's interesting how I'm much more satisfied with my drawing of the season two dragon form. XD
Of course, both dragon forms can look interesting during animation, these are just drawings I did, so it's some of my own style an' such, but still as close to them as I could get without looking like a ripped off screenshot.
It was actually difficult to get the first one right because his arm length and size changes ALOT. Same with his hands. And whether or not his underbelly and green down his spine goes all the way to the tip of his tail... Well, it changes all the time, so i couldn't really know. XD I just did it all the way for both.
I actually like Jake's new dragon form... I mean, the head's a little big and the eyes are rather beady (not apparent here), but his body looks like an actual 13 year old dragon, and it makes for some sweet midair dodging having a lanky body like that. Evident in "Bring It On" when he's fighting Fury and her snakes. C:
I do like his new back legs. They make more sense to me... and I imagine they're much easier to animate.
His wings did get smaller, I noticed.
And his entire self is darker.

Whoot.
So which dragon form do YOU like better? C:
I might upload a smaller version of this if I can get it to not look wonky.

I hate it when the outlining gets all jagged. >
[Edit] Okay, so I asked which form you like better, but I meant for you to think about it, not tell me, LOL. I keep getting comments and comments about which form everyone likes the best, and I honestly don't care, and honestly I'd be the only one to see your comment, so don't waste your time on me, LOL.
And while the season two form does show Jake as having a much greater degree of agility, his buff form in season one seem fit better with his cocky, showboating personality. Of course I must also confess that my preference of the season one form stems mostly from personal bias; as I tend to prefer muscular saurian dragons to slender serpentine ones. But again the show remained fun throughout both seasons so what's it matter?
It also wouldn't be the first time in a cartoon that we saw a scrawny runt of a kid change into a muscle-bound superhero. There's Ben 10 who's alien forms are all fully developed adults of their respective species, Billy Batson who changes into Captain Marvel, and also Beast Boy who changes into animals that appear completely in their prime sharing neither his age nor physical meekness.
Of course I guess it really just comes down to what you prefer. Like I said, it doesn't matter too much to me as the series was still fun and entertaining throughout the entirety of the show.
nice drawing
season two is ASS ugly.
