Jake Long's Dragon Forms by Serge-Stiles Jake Long's Dragon Forms by Serge-Stiles
Following up on the human form one I did...

Here's a versus between Jake's season one dragon form and his season two dragon form. C:

It's interesting how I'm much more satisfied with my drawing of the season two dragon form. XD

Of course, both dragon forms can look interesting during animation, these are just drawings I did, so it's some of my own style an' such, but still as close to them as I could get without looking like a ripped off screenshot. :|

It was actually difficult to get the first one right because his arm length and size changes ALOT. Same with his hands. And whether or not his underbelly and green down his spine goes all the way to the tip of his tail... Well, it changes all the time, so i couldn't really know. XD I just did it all the way for both.

I actually like Jake's new dragon form... I mean, the head's a little big and the eyes are rather beady (not apparent here), but his body looks like an actual 13 year old dragon, and it makes for some sweet midair dodging having a lanky body like that. Evident in "Bring It On" when he's fighting Fury and her snakes. C:

I do like his new back legs. They make more sense to me... and I imagine they're much easier to animate.

His wings did get smaller, I noticed.

And his entire self is darker. :O Whoot.

So which dragon form do YOU like better? C:

I might upload a smaller version of this if I can get it to not look wonky. :| I hate it when the outlining gets all jagged. >:|

[Edit] Okay, so I asked which form you like better, but I meant for you to think about it, not tell me, LOL. I keep getting comments and comments about which form everyone likes the best, and I honestly don't care, and honestly I'd be the only one to see your comment, so don't waste your time on me, LOL.

Good job, Serge-Stiles. It's quite interesting to see a direct comparison between Jake's season one and two dragon forms.

The only reasons I didn't like the redesign is because he does look weaker and more weasily. Who cares if it's not Asian looking enough? You should have thought of that when you started. I hate when they switch animation styles like in Ben !0 , Batman: The Animated Series and Scooby Doo. Sure, it's a refreshing twist sometimes, but It sort of reminds me of When they switched Darrins in "Bewitched...AND NOBODY NOTICES. The first design looked just fine.

I agree. The first season character designs are definitely superior to season two, that's for sure. Great artwork by the way.

Season 2 makes better sense because this design is a better blend of East and West.

The 2 season art style gets my vote.

I prefer season 1 for one reason and one reason only: Tokusetsu Style Transformation Sequence.

WHY?! Why did they redesign everything for season 2!? It looks so STUPID!!!!

What's so stupid about mixing East and West in a proper proportion?

The season 1 design did a great job doing that, but season 2 looks HIDEOUS!!!!
